Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Palancas Negras began, yesterday, in the afternoon, with training sessions at the premises of the Academia de Futebol Clube de Angola (AFCA), in Luanda, with a view to the dispute of the 21st edition of the COSAFA Cup, from 7 to 15 July, in the city of South African coast of Durban.<\/b><\/p>\n

The first preparation session was marked by the recovery and maintenance of the players’ physical condition.<\/p>\n

Then followed the technical work with the ball to improve its quick circulation, passing and reception with pressure from the opponent.<\/p>\n

The training ended with a mini-game between the team, to design tactics, improve the effectiveness of the forwards and the chemistry of the defensive sector during the opponent’s quick plays.<\/p>\n

Before the usual and demanding warm-up exercises, coach Pedro Gon\u00e7alves talked with the athletes about the goals set for the COSAFA Cup and also introduced the new physical trainer of the National Team. The Palancas Negras return to work today at 16:30, at the AFCA, to improve the technical and tactical aspects, with the physical exercises marking the beginning of the preparation.<\/p>\n

On Friday, at the same time, the group completes the last work session, already focused on the corrections of defensive and offensive movements.<\/p>\n

Yesterday, the athletes gathered, at lunchtime, at the Hotel Victoria Garden.<\/p>\n

The National Team will hold all the training sessions in the afternoon, before leaving for the city of Durban, at the AFCA sports venue, in Morro Bento.<\/p>\n

The Palancas Negras travel to Durban, on Sunday, at 9:45 am, where they disembark in the early afternoon, with a delegation made up of more than 30 people, including players, members of the technical staff, leaders of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF) and journalists.<\/p>\n

Pedro Gon\u00e7alves called up goalkeepers Neblu, Augusto Mualucano and Edmilson Cambila; defenders T\u00f4 Carneiro, Danilson, Raz\u00e3o, Eddie Afonso, Kinito, Karanga, Kialonda Gaspar, Paizo and Vidinho and midfielders Aisson, Carlinhos, Higino, Herenilson, M\u00e1rio Balb\u00fardia, Maya, Pedro Agostinho, Megue and Victoriano Lucoquessa.<\/p>\n

In the attack line, the Portuguese coach called Yano, Zine Salvador, Anderson Cruz, Bito, Jaredi, Julinho, Dilson, L\u00e9pua and Vanilson Z\u00e9u.<\/p>\n

In 2018, Angola occupied the second position of Group B, with four points, but insufficient to guarantee qualification to the second phase.<\/p>\n

This was the last participation of the Palancas Negras in the event, which missed the 2019 and 2021 editions for financial reasons, according to a source from the Technical Office of the National Teams.<\/p>\n
