Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Agrarian Development Support Fund (FADA), an institutional body, has 15 billion kwanzas to finance operators in the Agriculture and Fisheries sector, in an initiative that boosts the National Support Program for Technical and Material Supply (ATM).<\/b><\/p>\n

The executive director of FADA, Manuel Pedro, made these statements yesterday at the weekly briefing of the Ministry of Economy and Planning with the press, indicating that the ATM is a reinforcement component of the Program for Supporting Production, Diversification of Exports and Substitution of Imports (PRODESI).<\/p>\n

About 1,400 operators benefit from the financing that “established to enable the purchase of equipment and inputs, as well as allocate a set of resources in the form of working capital”, guaranteed Manuel Pedro.<\/p>\n

The credit is aimed at producers organized in cooperatives, associations and field schools, including women working in rural areas, demobilized soldiers, the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and the National Police (PN).<\/p>\n

Manuel Pedro explained that, in the financial component, the program defines farmers who operate individually and in cooperatives in the Agriculture and Fisheries sectors, with 1,000 individual producers obtaining financing.<\/p>\n

The executive director of FADA stressed that, according to the resources available to individual operators, the maximum funding limit is seven million kwanzas, ranging between 15 and 30 million for cooperatives.<\/p>\n

The financing is granted for four years, with a grace period and an interest of 3.0 percent per year, said the executive director, noting that the repayment process only begins in the second year, consisting of six semi-annual installments.<\/p>\n

Production Instrument<\/b><\/p>\n

The Secretary of State for the Economy, Dalva Ringote, defended the funding allocated by FADA as an instrument of food production, especially with the start of the 2022-2023 Agricultural Campaign, which begins next September.<\/p>\n

Dalva Ringote said that the eastern provinces (where agricultural activity is lower) were selected, because the Executive understands that there is a need to boost agriculture in these regions and support large businessmen who have had difficulties in meeting the illegibility criteria. .<\/p>\n

The Secretary of State highlighted that the Executive approved the ATM to ensure that agricultural families can count on more inputs, access the criteria of eligibility for financing with competitive interest rates, in such a way that they carry out productive agricultural campaigns.<\/p>\n
