Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The president of the Angolan Electoral Observatory, Archbishop Gabriel Mbilingi, advised, Tuesday (6), in Luanda, the political forces to be more careful with the language in the political speech, being ideal that they opt for conciliatory messages, so that promote a healthy environment during the election period.<\/b><\/p>\n

Bishop Gabriel Mbilingi expressed concern about the possibility of aggravating the atmosphere of tension in the pre-campaign, where cases were observed with the use of pawords or content less appropriate for the electoral environment. “When there is a language that is generally not conciliatory, it has an influence on the followers”, said the archbishop, referring that, in such circumstances, the militants and sympathizers follow the motivations of the parties.<\/p>\n

For Bishop Gabriel Mbilingui, who made these remarks after a meeting at the Attorney General’s Office, where, at the head of a delegation from the Angolan Electoral Observatory, he went to share ideas on the way in which the pre-campaign is taking place, in compliance with the principles legal and ethical, for the exercise of observation, the parties have the obligation not to provoke situations that demand violent behavior from the voters. “When the violence is physical, then it is because it was already verbal”, stressed the religious entity.<\/p>\n

The Angolan Electoral Observatory is a platform that brings together several civil society organizations and is focused on electoral education and the supervision of General Elections. According to Archbishop Gabriel Bilingi, who presides over the aforementioned body, the meeting served to inform the PGR of the objectives of the Observatory. “The Angolan Electoral Observatory is the structure that brings together civil society institutions and churches that compete for electoral civic education, with a view to also participating in the process as observers”, concluded the archbishop.<\/p>\n

Archbishop Gabriel Mbilingi, who has presided over the Episcopal Conference of Angola and S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 (CEAST), will head the Angolan Electoral Observatory Observatory for the General Elections, is received today by the President of the Constitutional Court, Laurinda Cardoso, and by the leader of the largest opposition party, Adalberto da Costa J\u00fanior.
