Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Head of State, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, was, Friday (8), as acting president of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (CIRGL), informed about the steps being taken to implement the Roadmap. of Luanda for Peace and Security in the Central African Republic (CAR).<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was provided by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of CAR, Sylvie Valerie Baipo Temon, who was specially sent for this purpose by the Central African President, Faustin-Archange Toud\u00e9ra.<\/p>\n

“I came as President Touad\u00e9ra’s special envoy. I conveyed a message to President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, who reports on the progress made in the Central African Republic. As you know, the region (the Great Lakes) adopted, at the last meeting, held in September last year (in Luanda), a peace roadmap on the Central African Republic that is now being implemented. For this reason, President Touad\u00e9ra sent me to be able to tell you what steps and forums the Central African authorities are carrying out with a view to implementing the roadmap\u201d, Sylvie Temon told journalists after leaving the meeting.<\/p>\n

According to the head of Central African diplomacy, her country’s authorities are working with other international and regional partners, which is why, she stressed, these steps could not fail to be reported to President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, he recalled that the Roadmap for Peace and Security in CAR was an initiative of the CIRGL – which is chaired by the Angolan Head of State – and was decided at a Mini-Summit held in Luanda. “For this reason, the subsequent steps must be reported to President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o”, he insisted.<\/p>\n

Asked if there were any difficulties in the implementation of the Luanda Roadmap, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of CAR replied in the negative, but admitted that there are “some groups” armed that intend to stop the progress of the process, through some actions. “But this does not mean that the Roadmap is not having its effects\u201d, he declared.<\/p>\n

Sylvie Temon informed that it was held, on the 4th of this month, in Bangui, for the evaluation of the subsequent points of the Roadmap. She welcomed the fact that the heads of diplomacy from Angola and Rwanda had participated in the meeting. The presence of the Angolan and Rwandan ministers “gave a much greater emphasis on the highly credible meeting with international and sub-regional partners”. of the Roadmap which, he said he believed, “will achieve its purposes”.<\/p>\n

The CIRGL Heads of State and Government Mini-Summit, held in September last year, in Luanda, approved a Joint Roadmap for Peace in CAR, as well as the continuation of consultations with the leaders of the armed groups for a complete resignation the violence.<\/p>\n

The Luanda Mini-Summit counted on the participation of Presidents Denis Sassou N’guesso, of Congo and of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS); Faustin-Archange Touadera, from RCA; and Mahamat Idriss D\u00e9by Itno, leader of the Transitional Military Council in Chad and acting president of the Commonwealth of Sahel-Sahara States (CENSAD), as a special guest.<\/p>\n

General Ibrahim Gabir Ibrahim Karima represented the president of the Sovereign Transitional Council of Sudan.<\/p>\n

General Abdul Fattah al-Burhan, President of the Sovereign Transitional Council of Sudan, was represented by Ibrahim Gabir Ibrahim Karima, while Kabanda Kurhenga Gilbert, Minister of National Defense and Former Combatants of the DRC, represented the Head of State, F\u00e9lix Tshisekedi.<\/p>\n
