Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The provisional results of the autopsy on the body of the former President of the Republic, Jos\u00e9 Eduardo dos Santos, held Saturday in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bSpain, rule out any possibility of poisoning as the cause of death.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was released yesterday in this city by the Attorney General of the Republic, H\u00e9lder Pitta Gr\u00f3s, who is joining the Angolan delegation from Luanda in order to deal with the process of transferring the body to the country’s capital.<\/p>\n

The Attorney General of the Republic made it known that this autopsy, requested by the Spanish Justice by the daughter Tchiz\u00e9 dos Santos who raised the possibility of her father’s poisoning, was carried out at the Institute of Legal Medicine in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bwhich released the results yesterday.<\/p>\n

H\u00e9lder Pitta Gr\u00f3s said that there is still no time horizon for the publication of the definitive results, but he added that it could take between three and six weeks. “That takes time,” he said.<\/p>\n

As a matter of caution and even to clear up any doubts, he said that the viscera and liver were asked to undergo some reagents.<\/p>\n

“The objective is to see how these viscera will react to the reagent, to avoid any speculation. But that does not prevent this result from being valid”, assured the Attorney General of the Republic, in the meeting that the Angolan delegation had with the national press. featured in this city.<\/p>\n

For his part, the Minister of State and head of the Military House of the President of the Republic, who presided over the meeting, clarified that at the meeting held with the family, on Saturday, the former First Lady of the Republic, Ana Paula dos Santos, the three children, the sister of the former President of the Republic Marta dos Santos and other relatives residing in Barcelona expressed their desire to see the body of Jos\u00e9 Eduardo dos Santos transferred to Angola.<\/p>\n

Francisco Furtado said that this meeting was held with the family, headed by the former First Lady of the Republic, Ana Paula dos Santos, and six of the eight children of the former President, sister Marta dos Santos and other family members present in Barcelona.<\/p>\n

The meeting, continued, also had the presence, by video call, of the firstborn daughter Isabel dos Santos and Jos\u00e9 Paulino dos Santos, with Tchiz\u00e9 and Zenu dos Santos being absent, the latter being in Angola.<\/p>\n

The Minister of State and head of the Military House of the President of the Republic said that, at this meeting, the Angolan State’s guarantee regarding the transfer of the remains of the former President of the Republic to Luanda, as well as that of the entire family who is in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bin safe conditions for a stay in Angola for a period that they deem convenient, during and after the funeral.<\/p>\n

In view of this, Francisco Furtado said that the daughters requested some time, in order to meet again, among the eight brothers, to present the terms of reference of what would, in fact, be the conditions for going to Angola.<\/p>\n

He stressed that this meeting should take place on Sunday morning, but so far, the commission has not accuse any confirmation that it has already been held, for subsequent steps.<\/p>\n

“Therefore, as soon as we have this meeting planned or some document that they send us, we will be able to make direct pronouncements on this matter”, he stressed.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Francisco Furtado revealed that the former First Lady’s children were the only ones who lived permanently with their father until his death.<\/p>\n

He said that the others only appeared sporadically, noting that his daughter Tchiz\u00e9 dos Santos, on one of the visits she made to her father, during the period in which she was in a coma at the clinic, did not even stay in the room for more than five minutes with the father.<\/p>\n

Francisco Furtado also clarified that the house where the former President of the Republic and his family (wife and three children) lived was rented by the Angolan State, with the rent paid until December this year.<\/p>\n

He said that the service and support staff of the former President, a total of 15, have their salaries and subsidies guaranteed by the Angolan State.<\/p>\n

“Under migration rules, their visas are renewed every 30 days and the staff is relieved every 30 days, and when leaving Angola everyone comes with guaranteed visas and subsidies, in hand, for the 30 days”, stressed, denying the information according to which they were supported by other people.<\/p>\n

Francisco Furtado also informed that the Angolan State had already guaranteed the financial conditions for the continuation of the medical assistance of the former President, in Barcelona, \u200b\u200buntil December of this year.<\/p>\n
