Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>This Monday, the governor of the province, Jos\u00e9 Martins, expressed, in a book of condolences, deep feelings of condolence to the Angolan people and the ex-President’s family. “The people from Cabinda to Cunene lost one of their best sons, a statesman and humanist who dedicated his whole life to preserving the peace and well-being of the population,” he wrote.<\/b><\/p>\n

During the ceremony for the presentation of condolences, he also highlighted the levels of development of Cuando Cubango, achieved during the ex-President’s era, with emphasis on the resumption of the circulation of trains on the Mo\u00e7\u00e2medes Railways between Menongue and Namibe, passing by Lubango (Hu\u00edla).<\/p>\n

The construction of a gas filling station, a logistical fuel storage post, rehabilitation and expansion of Comandante Kwenha airports, in the city of Menongue, and 23 de Mar\u00e7o, as well as the Memorial to Vit\u00f3ria da Batalha do Cuito Cuanavale, the construction of housing fires in all municipalities in the province changed the population’s way of life in the post-war period.<\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Martins said that in 2012, at the time as provincial secretary of the JMPLA, he received advice and motivating words from the president emeritus of the MPLA, a gesture that catapulted him to other stages of his party life and today he is the governor of Cu-ando Cubango.<\/p>\n

He stressed that many MPLA militants, friends and sympathizers, and the population in general, would like Jos\u00e9 Eduardo dos Santos to still be alive, so that he can continue to transmit his knowledge and experiences to the new generations, in carrying out the multiple tasks at the level of the party and the governance of the country.<\/p>\n

He stressed that it was with great pain and consternation that he received the news of the premature physical death of Dos Santos, as he is a figure who has done a lot for the achievement of peace and national reconciliation.<\/p>\n
