Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The spokesman of the National Electoral Commission (CNE), Lucas Quilundo, pointed out this Monday, in Luanda, the training course for members of polling stations as the last action of the electoral process that will culminate on 24 August 2022.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the national commissioner, polling station members are responsible for organizing, directing and coordinating the work, from opening, voting and counting.<\/p>\n

Lucas Quilundo, was speaking at the opening of the Training Course for National Trainers for Members of the Polling Station Boards for the 2022 General Elections, which ends on Friday.<\/p>\n

He asked the trainees to dedicate themselves to apprehending as much knowledge as possible so that they can pass it on to the other levels, namely, provincial and municipal.<\/p>\n

The polling station, he considered, is the essential nucleus of the whole process, as it is there where everything is unleashed with the presence of voters, observers, list delegates and members of the assemblies.<\/p>\n

Course<\/b><\/p>\n

Lasting five days, the Training Course for National Trainers for Members of the Polling Stations’ Bureaus aims to provide participants with theoretical and practical content on the organization and functioning of polling stations, identify and master the electoral material, among others. matters.<\/p>\n

To be given by technicians from the CNE’s Directorate for Electoral Training and Civic Education, the course comprises 80 staff from the institution, including heads of the training, civic and electoral education department of the Provincial Electoral Commissions and national trainers.<\/p>\n

For the August 24 general elections, 13,238 polling stations will be available, comprising 26,488 polling stations, in Portugal and abroad. 13,376,831 citizens in Angola and 22,560 in the diaspora are entitled to vote, totaling 14,399,391 voters.<\/p>\n

The CNE expects to recruit and train 105,950 members, throughout the national territory and abroad, to work in these polling stations and polling stations.<\/p>\n
