Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Foreign Affairs, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, discussed this Sunday, with the president of the African Union for the issues of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFTA), Mahamadou Issouf, the strategies for strengthening resilience and increasing intra-country trade. Africa for goods and services.<\/b><\/p>\n

At the meeting, which took place in Lusaka, Zambia, on the sidelines of the 4th Semiannual Coordination Meeting, between the African Union, the Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and the Regional Mechanisms (MRs), Minister T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio touched on other aspects related to to the strategy with officials from countries such as Chad and Rwanda, Mahamat Zene Cherif and Vincent Biruta, respectively.<\/p>\n

The head of Angolan diplomacy also met with the executive director of AUDA-NEPAD, Nardos Bekele Thomas. It should be recalled that the Minister of Foreign Affairs represented the Head of State, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, at the 4th Semiannual Coordination Meeting between the African Union and the Regional Economic Communities.<\/p>\n

The meeting served to assess the state of continental integration, as well as to coordinate the implementation of continental decisions. The meeting reviewed the Inter-REC Cooperation: Tripartite Free Trade Area between the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA), the East African Community (EAC) and the Southern African Development Community (SADC).<\/p>\n

The meeting began with words of circumstances by the Head of State of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, followed by the intervention of the President of the African Union Commission, Moussa Mahamat, President of the European Council, Charles Michel, and the opening speech by the President of Senegal and Acting President of the African Union, Macky Sall.<\/p>\n

The members of the Bureau of the Assembly of the African Union, namely Senegal, Libya, Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo, in addition to the presidents of the Regional Economic Communities (REC’s) participate in this Semiannual Coordination Meeting.<\/p>\n
