Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The secretary general of the Organization of Angolan Women (OMA) appealed, this Sunday, in Luanda, to the participation of women in the General Elections of 24 August, demonstrating an orderly conduct, in order to choose the leader they trust the most to maintain. the country on the path of development.<\/b><\/p>\n

Joana Tom\u00e1s, who was speaking during the closing of the 36th Session of the Annual Conference of the Methodist Church, whose motto was “Methodist people, let us beseech God’s providence in times of adversity”, recognizes in women an organized conduct, of discipline, citizenship and obedience to rules and laws of the country.<\/p>\n

The political leader highlighted the importance of electoral civic education for the realization of a peaceful democracy party. “We know that when women go to elections, they do so in an organized way, obeying the norms and laws of the country”, he underlined, having advanced that “we are here to appeal, once again, to women to participate in this party of Democracy in a orderly and to choose well the leader who will continue to make his contribution to the development of Angola”.<\/p>\n

The general secretary of OMA said that the conference for Methodists is a moment of great anticipation, because, in addition to some pastors being retired, others are ordained, and there is always the curiosity if they return to the church where they served.<\/p>\n

Joana Tom\u00e1s pointed out that as a Methodist, it is a joy to see the ordinance and empowerment of many women pastors, a reality that was little known before. In the end, she paid tribute to the pastors who ended their terms, leaving a good legacy to the church.<\/p>\n

For her part, the minister of Social Action, Family and Women’s Promotion appealed to the church’s efforts to rescue its role of safeguarding morals, family and citizenship.<\/p>\n

Faustina Alves recommended a greater effort and consolidation between the church and the Government to remedy certain deviations in the social behavior of citizens.<\/p>\n

Society, he said, must recover values \u200b\u200bsuch as education, morals, love of neighbor and a spirit of unity, a role that the Methodist Church has always played actively.<\/p>\n
