Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, launched, this Tuesday, the first stone for the construction and requalification of the Basilica of Muxima, in the village of the same name, in Luanda.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the press, the infrastructure will have a capacity to house 4,000 fies. The first three lots of the project comprise the rehabilitation of the old Church of Nossa Senhora da Muxima, the Forte da Muxima and the construction of the quay bridge.<\/p>\n

The project also includes the construction of a medical centre, local administration, National Police Command, school, community centre, clergy building, subdivision area for family homes and a campsite in Muxima, located 130 kilometers from the city of Luanda.<\/p>\n

To be implemented in an area of \u200b\u200b90 hectares, 40 hectares of which in this first phase, the requalification of the village of Muxima includes the construction of infrastructure for areas of residential and commercial buildings, power station and treatment of drinking and residual water. .<\/p>\n

In 2018, the President of the Republic, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, authorized the requalification of the town and sanctuary of Muxima, in a total budget of close to 91,620,393,916 kwanzas (one dollar is worth 308.61 kwanzas on this date).<\/p>\n

Vila da Muxima, located in the municipality of Quissama, 130 kilometers from Luanda, houses the Sanctuary of Muxima, the largest Marian center of Catholic devotion in sub-Saharan Africa.<\/p>\n
