Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The plastic artist Armando Scoott was distinguished, in Malaga, Barcelona, \u200b\u200bwith the trophy for Best Work of the Salon, in the collective exhibition that took place from the 11th to the 15th of this month, at the international gallery Artadiscar, in that Spanish city.<\/b><\/p>\n

In his first participation in an exhibition, in the hometown of the great master Pablo Picasso, in which he exhibited three works, at the invitation of the Norwegian gallery Artcom Expo International Association of Artists and Partnerships, the artist saw his painting “Peace over Ukraine\u201d awarded as the best in the international fair and surpass the creative genius of 29 other professionals from 13 countries.<\/p>\n

The painting exhibited by the artist, measuring 60\/70 centimeters, took a week to produce, using the oil on canvas technique and the surrealism movement. The play presents a concept of peace over war on the European continent, with Russia and Ukraine in the spotlight.<\/p>\n

The visual artist Armando Scoott told Jornal de Angola yesterday that he chose the theme of the war in Ukraine because it is current and that worries everyone, as he sees rights violated “because of political decisions”.<\/p>\n

According to the artist, as a social activist “I could not remain indifferent to the situation, so I present my solidarity with our brothers in Ukraine with my art”.<\/p>\n

“The conflict has lasted four months. The United Nations estimates that around 5,000 civilians were killed and more than 15 million Ukrainians were forced to flee their homes, forcing the elderly, adults and children to be homeless and killed. There has never been a good war or a bad peace. I have faith that everything will work out, and that peace will extend to Ukraine\u201d.<\/p>\n

With this feat, the artist totals the 21st career award, becoming the most awarded Angolan artist of his generation, with a career spanning just over 10 years.<\/p>\n

Regarding the award won, the artist was happy, highlighting the fact that it was his first presence, precisely in the birthplace of Pablo Picaso.<\/p>\n

30 professionals from 14 countries participated in the exhibition, namely from Angola, Portugal, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Norway, Morocco, Ukraine, France, Albania, England, Argentina, Philippines, Cuba and Italy.<\/p>\n

Armando Scoott graduated from the National Directorate of Artistic Training, in Luanda, in addition to numerous training in the Field of Visual Arts, among which the most prominent are the degree in Fine Arts and the Post-Graduate in Urban Art, by the Lus\u00f3fona University of Lisbon. .<\/p>\n

His passions are in the areas of Arts, Fashion, Architecture, Cinema and Advertising, in which the Visual Arts (Painting) are of special importance. Armando Scoott, only 31 years old, had the opportunity to exhibit in South Korea, Portugal, Spain, Luxembourg, London, Norway, France and the United Arab Emirates. In 2020, he was considered by Forbes as one of the most promising plastic artists of his generation in Angola and the most international, being also a member of the Young Brigade of Plastic Artists (BJAP).<\/p>\n

Armando Scoott was the first Angolan to exhibit at the Louvre International Museum in Paris, a fact that was repeated twice, having been awarded a bronze medal by the institution in 2018. The Cristiano Ronaldo 7 Museum, in Madeira, Portugal, has his work in a permanent exhibition.<\/p>\n
