Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>In all, 64 masters in Specific Education and Teaching Methodologies received their diplomas this Tuesday in Luanda and will henceforth help to improve the quality of teaching and learning for Angolan students.<\/b><\/p>\n

Of the 64 masters, trained under the National Plan for the Training of Teachers, in a partnership signed between the Government of Angola and Portugal, 16 were trained in Preschool Teaching Methodology, by the Higher Institute of Education Sciences (ISCED), da Hu\u00edla, 29 in Primary Education, at the University of Benguela, and 19 in Portuguese Language in Secondary Education, by ISCED in Luanda.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Education, Lu\u00edsa Grilo, said that the initiative is another step in the training of quality teachers in Angola. “The development of quality schools, which guarantee a cycle of education and qualified teaching, depends, to a large extent, on the quality and performance of the professionals placed at the service”.<\/p>\n

The quality of teacher training, he said, is a fundamental condition for improving learning.<\/p>\n

For the materialization of this purpose, he argues, it is essential to have qualified Angolan staff in the country’s pedagogical higher education institutions. “We want teachers with demanding training, to have a quality education and teaching, in which we can all see ourselves”.<\/p>\n

The graduates, he said, coming from the provinces of Hu\u00edla, Namibe, Benguela, Malanje, Cuanza-Norte, Bengo and Luanda, will be distributed and managed based on the needs of each of the training institutions of origin.<\/p>\n

Pride<\/b><\/p>\n

The Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Maria do Ros\u00e1rio Bragan\u00e7a, said that the training of these new staff is a source of pride, as it is one of the premises of the Executive, enrolled in the Training and Management Program for Teaching Staff.<\/p>\n

The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Manuel Nunes J\u00fanior, considered the master’s course an important step, given that education is one of the main “flags” of the Angolan Executive.<\/p>\n

The Portuguese ambassador to Angola, Francisco Alegre Duarte, reiterated the support given to Angola in the area of \u200b\u200beducation, higher education and professional training, which is one of the main goals of Portuguese cooperation. “The strategic cooperation program between the two countries, for the period from 2018 to 2022, included financial support of three million and 500 thousand euros to the Education sector”, he highlighted.<\/p>\n
