Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The bishop of the Diocese of Caxito, D. Maur\u00edcio Camuto, appealed for peace among Angolans and for the pacification of spirits, so that everything goes well in the general elections of 24 August.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Catholic prelate, who was speaking on Sunday, during the pilgrimage to the patron saint of the local parish, Santa Ana, defended that Christians need to pray that God may pour out the spirit of peace and reconciliation, for the good progress of the electoral process.<\/p>\n

D. Camuto said he hopes that the results of the elections will reflect the will of the voters. He called the attention of the faithful to see the elections as a great celebration of democracy.<\/p>\n

At the event, with the participation of more than 7,000 faithful from various parishes of the Catholic Church in Bengo, the bishop asked Angolans not to get involved in conflicts or acts of violence, so that the electoral process takes place without constraints.<\/p>\n
