Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences will offer, in Huambo, next academic year, the first doctoral course in Agro-Food Technology, according to the new dean of the Jos\u00e9 Eduardo dos Santos University (UJES).
\n<\/b>
\nVirg\u00ednia Quartin, who was speaking at the inauguration ceremony, at the Cambiote University Campus, guaranteed that, throughout her term, she will boost the activities that govern the institution and make it a modern university, with transparent and participatory management, capable of attracting resources, without compromising the character of seriousness and transparency.<\/p>\n

The regularization of the employment relationship of non-teaching staff, who have been employed for several years, and their training will also deserve special attention from the new management, which also intends to focus on permanent dialogue and the inclusion of women.<\/p>\n

The dean made it known that, in terms of postgraduate studies, the perspective is to “improve training”, with the creation of new courses across the country, with the support of internationally renowned universities, stressing that the UJES has benefited from six projects postgraduate studies with funding from the European Union.<\/p>\n

“We want to work with the entire UJES universe and place it at the highest level of demand and quality.<\/p>\n

I want to reaffirm that we will continue to be aligned with the UJES motto: ‘for a more national, cohesive and more global university'”, emphasized.<\/p>\n

The governor of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, speaking at the ceremony, highlighted the symbolism of the act, which represents the resumption of the democratization process in the management of decision-making bodies of the country’s public universities, which should be reflected in the improvement of public affairs.<\/p>\n

“The Angolan Government had enough discernment and wisdom to return to the academy the destinations of university management”, a vision that, he said, “aims to raise the degree of internal organization of universities and make greater investment under superior guidance”.<\/p>\n

Lotti Nolika also guaranteed the intention of building from scratch, over the next five years, a new University Campus, which reflects the importance that the city of Huambo has in the training of staff for the country.<\/p>\n
