Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The secretary of the MPLA Political Bureau for Political and Electoral Affairs, Jo\u00e3o Martins, denied, this Monday, in Luanda, the president of UNITA, Adalberto Costa J\u00fanior, about the pronouncements made, recently, in one of the mass acts in relation to to a possible negotiation for the transition with members of the comrades’ party. He said that the UNITA leader acted irresponsibly, inelegantly, serious and rude.<\/b><\/p>\n

The MPLA, in the face of what it called a rude attitude, called on the press to clarify national public opinion and voters, in particular, that Adalberto Costa J\u00fanior was taking advantage of a meeting to blatantly lie to Angolans.<\/p>\n

In this order, Jo\u00e3o Martins stated that, in order to deal with matters of the nature that the president of UNITA exposes, the leaders of the MPLA would have to have the endorsement and political guidance of the party leadership and not just the leader.<\/p>\n

“It is neither fair nor legitimate to take advantage of our availability to publicly capitalize on its recipients that it was negotiating with top MPLA leaders, in an informal meeting, a hypothetical transition”, he punctuated, having advanced, then, that this is gross and very serious. “An individual who is not ashamed to lie with this dimension, cannot be a valid interlocutor for anything”, sentenced the politician.<\/p>\n

The secretary of the Political Bureau for Political and Electoral Affairs stressed that the MPLA takes politics very seriously and, therefore, considers these pronouncements as “a great lack of respect from the leader of the largest opposition party”.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe MPLA knows that power is conquered and not negotiated\u201d, Jo\u00e3o Martins stressed. now, he is working on the 2022 elections.\u201d<\/p>\n

“It was following the raising of these problems by the current president of UNITA that we reacted and asked questions at the three levels that we understand to establish the relationship between the MPLA and UNITA”, he clarified.<\/p>\n

Jo\u00e3o Martins explained, by the way, that since March the president of UNITA requested an informal meeting with the secretary for Political and Electoral Affairs of the MPLA, and, in that order, it took place on 27 May of this year, in a hotel in Luanda. .<\/p>\n

During the meeting, he added, several issues were discussed about the current political moment, with emphasis on the dissemination and posting, by the Government, of the list of registered voters, treatment of UNITA in terms of the Media, among others.<\/p>\n

The secretary of the MPLA Political Bureau for Political and Electoral Affairs stated that his party has an institutional relationship with legalized political forces, which, despite their different historical trajectories, occupy space in the national territory and integrate, by right, some organs of the apparatus. of the State, particularly the Parliament, where UNITA has representation.<\/p>\n

“It is at this level that we considered, at the time, that we had no problems in holding the meeting, because, on many occasions, particularly at the seat of Parliament, we held political consultations as happened with the approval of the 2010 Constitution, in which UNITA abstained\u201d, stressed the politician.<\/p>\n

He added that, in order to reach this point of UNITA’s abstention vote, there were consultations, which prove that “at this level of institutional relationship, as political parties, we don’t have much noise, and this was manifested, as my point of view current president of UNITA\u201d.<\/p>\n

Jo\u00e3o Martins underlined that, during the three-and-a-half hour meeting, the leader of UNITA was alerted about some actions by his party that were not supportive of the stability that is intended to be avenged in the current political moment.<\/p>\n

“There was a note on the part of the current president of UNITA that he was predisposed to winning the elections. To a direct question he posed, if we would have any fear of living in the country that was governed or led by him, we responded in a frontal and categorical that in Angola there are many lunatics\u201d, stressed Jo\u00e3o Martins, having underlined that the leader of UNITA was promptly told that, at that moment, he was \u201ctalking to a lunatic\u201d, because if he did not work to win the elections as \u201che believed who would have a chance of winning them.\u201d<\/p>\n
