In the field of employment, the politician made it known that the MPLA proposes to reduce unemployment rates to 25 percent, currently estimated at around 30. Manuel Nunes Júnior said that an ambitious program of professional internships is intended to be carried out to facilitate the insertion of young people in the labor market.

With regard to centralization, he explained that, in case the MPLA is victorious, it wants to implement local authorities with the best international practices, to guarantee a better organization of the provinces, in general, strengthening the municipalities, in particular. He added that this will create conditions to offer better organization and engagement of citizens in political-administrative decision-making centers and encourage the settlement of populations in certain areas of the national territory.

Regarding the Media, Manuel Nunes Júnior stressed that the MPLA will reinforce policies to position Angola among the African countries with the best levels of press freedom and access to information. In this order, it will promote the emergence of new independent bodies, which accentuate competition and plurality in the news spaces. In the Health sector, the MPLA guarantees to maintain the path to consolidate the country in the region of Sub-Saharan Africa with the provision of diversified services and offer of better assistance, which will also allow it to appear in the Health indices, especially in the fight against to the main endemics.

The member of the MPLA Political Bureau, Manuel Nunes Júnior, during the interaction with journalists, at Cefojor, stressed that the Government Program 2022 to 2027 is focused on expanding policies in the field of improving the population’s life. He advanced that, in this sense, he also intends to significantly increase the levels of specialization of health personnel, including doctors, nurses, diagnostic technicians, administrative and hospital support staff.

The comrades’ party will expand the network of Sanitary Units of the National Health Service, in an adjusted way, taking into account the population and territory to be covered, with special attention to the primary network, where telemedicine stands out.

In Education, the MPLA will continue the project “Schools of Reference”, in the sense of converting it into a process of promoting quality and professionalism. In this way, education and teaching will be allowed for all, reducing the illiteracy rate at all ages, as well as reducing, as much as possible, the number of children outside the education system.

In the field of Justice, according to Manuel Nunes Júnior, the MPLA intends to elevate Angola to the top levels of the main international indicators, in terms of human rights and human development.

Strengthen the autonomy and independence of the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the respective judiciary, reviewing appointment and control procedures, as well as reinforcing career paths and remuneration. The politician said that such conditions contribute to increase the efficiency and celerity of the courts, reducing the delay in the treatment of judicial cases.

Strategy Passes Through Three Fundamental Axes

The MPLA Governance program, he continued, is based on three fundamental documents, with emphasis on the long-term strategy Angola 2025, the MPLA program approved at the eighth Ordinary Congress, held in December last year, and the strategy motion of the party leader, also presented at the last congress.

Highlighting the main achievements of the MPLA, Manuel Nunes Júnior indicated that, since 2018, oil taxes have been able to pay the Civil Service payroll. “We don’t need to be dependent on oil taxes to pay the Civil Service payroll”, he said, having then considered that this action was an extraordinary and historic gain for the country’s public finances.

He stressed that since 2020 there has been a stabilization of the national currency in the country. The current account, he said, was negative in 2014, 2015 and 2017, but from 2018 to 2022, this account became positive. “It means that since 2018, the current account has become positive, and that means that foreign exchange inflows are greater than outflows.”

According to Manuel Nunes Júnior, the measures adopted by the Executive allowed economic control over reserves with measures to make the foreign exchange market and the exchange rate more flexible. Regarding Gross Domestic Product, he stressed that since 2016 there has been negative growth, but in 2021, the country emerged from economic recession.

“The country started to grow, coming out of the negative field in which it was inserted, and it was found that this growth, in 2021, was fundamentally driven by the non-oil sector”, he said. Manuel Nunes Júnior said that “the growth shows that the bet made in Agriculture is already paying off and, with that, the country starts to have a more sustained growth”.

For More News And Analysis About Angola Follow Africa-Press

Africa-Press – Angola.
