According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the missive, whose content was not disclosed, was delivered by Minister T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, has a meeting scheduled for today with the President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, to whom he will send a message from the Head of State Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o.<\/p>\n

It should be recalled that Angola currently assumes the presidency of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, and, through the efforts made by the Government, the Head of State Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o was recently named Champion of Peace and Reconciliation in Africa, appointed by their peers at the Extraordinary Summit on Terrorism and Unconstitutional Changes of Government in Africa, held in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.<\/p>\n

The recognition expressed during a meeting between the African Union commissioner and the head of Angolan diplomacy, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, underlines, in this sense, that President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o has fulfilled his mandate as Champion of Peace and Reconciliation in Africa.<\/p>\n

For Commissioner Bankole Adeoye, Angola has carried out its mediation in a coordinated manner as it is a complex process, always bearing in mind the peace, security and development of the Great Lakes Region.<\/p>\n

The official praised the way in which the electoral process is being conducted in the country and thanked the African Union for the invitation to send observers to follow the General Elections on August 24, which will count, for the first time, with the participation of Angolan citizens. residing outside the country.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, the Foreign Minister reflected on Angola’s role in the prevention, management and resolution of conflicts in Africa.
