Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola participates in the 8th World Summit on Cities (WCS), in Marina Bay Sands, Singapore, with a delegation led by the ambassador accredited to that country, Daniel Ant\u00f3nio Rosa, representing the governor of Luanda, Ana Paula Chantre Luna de Carvalho Pereira.<\/b><\/p>\n

The summit, which takes place under the motto “Livable and Sustainable Cities: Emerging Stronger”, brings together government leaders, city governors and development experts from around the world.<\/p>\n

Politicians and experts debate, at the summit that ends today, the measures to be adopted to deal with the challenges faced by sustainable and livable cities and share future urban solutions and promote new partnerships.<\/p>\n

The work agenda addresses issues related to sustainable finance, smart cities, development and planning, urban resilience, future livable cities.<\/p>\n

The World Summit on Cities creates a space for leaders from the public, private and international academic sectors to exchange ideas and together find solutions for the cities of the future.<\/p>\n

Opened in 2108, the biennial Summit has so far attracted the participation of more than two and a half hundred cities around the world.<\/p>\n

In 2018, Angola participated in the seventh World Summit on Cities, with a delegation led by the then provincial governor of Luanda, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho. The event was not held in 2020, due to restrictions resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n
