Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Organizing Committee of the 16th edition of the Football World Cup for Amputees released, last weekend, the official calendar of arrivals of sports delegations to the city of Istanbul.<\/b><\/p>\n

On the 26th of September, the 24 referees appointed by the International Amputee Football Federation (WAFF) are expected, plus the head of refereeing of the world institution, the Englishman Ian Clarke.<\/p>\n

The national delegations are expected on the 28th of September, for the next day the technical meeting of the event will take place.<\/p>\n

On the 30th of September, the opening ceremony and the match of the opening round of Group A, between Turkey and Haiti, will take place in the city of Istanbul.<\/p>\n

On the 1st of October, 11 group stage matches are scheduled to conclude the first matchday. The first round of the competition continues on the 2nd of October, with 12 challenges from the six series.<\/p>\n

The third and final round of the group stage is played on 3 October, also with 12 matches. The following day is reserved for the selections’ rest.<\/p>\n

On October 4th, the WAFF Congress takes place. The round of 16 matches will be played on the 5th of October. The Organizing Committee also scheduled the “Play Off” challenges on this date to define the classification from 17th to 24th.<\/p>\n

The quarter-finals are scheduled for the 6th of October, plus the “Play Offs” for the decision of the 9th to 16th places. The semi-finals will be played on the 7th of October, with the teams having a break on the following day. On October 9, the final match of the World Cup is played in the city of Istanbul.<\/p>\n
