Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Secretary of State for the Interior, Bam\u00f3quina Nzau, said in Cabinda that the staff of the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), as \u201cthe visible face of the Defense, Security and Internal Order Forces\u201d, must act with professionalism, before, during and after the electoral process, in the interest of preserving National Independence and territorial integrity.<\/b><\/p>\n

The official is in the northernmost province of the country to complete an intense three-day journey, limited to lectures to different bodies of the ministry, including other strata of civil society, with emphasis on religious, traditional and young authorities.<\/p>\n

He said that the professionalism that is intended for the staff of Minint “necessarily passes through the mastery that they must reveal in the tasks of national defense, public order, protection of State institutions and in guaranteeing the exercise of citizens’ fundamental rights and freedoms.<\/p>\n

Surveillance and not giving a truce to offenders are, among others, the most relevant aspects pointed out by the Secretary of State for the Interior, Bam\u00f3quina Nzau.<\/p>\n

“It is our obligation to defend the legally constituted power, guarantee the exercise of rights and fundamental freedoms of citizens against any threat that wants to subvert social order and peace”, he recalled.<\/p>\n

The Secretary of State for the Interior reminded those present that national sovereignty is priceless, non-negotiable, hence, he reinforced, it is above any feeling or interest.<\/p>\n

“Sovereignty is non-negotiable in every dimension and it is above any feeling or interest”, reiterated Bam\u00f3quina Nzau, for whom the organs of Defense, Security and Internal Order have a constitutional obligation to consolidate peace, strengthen democracy, preserve national unity and cohesion and safeguard the rights, freedoms and guarantees of the people and the homeland.<\/p>\n

Meeting With Civil Society<\/b><\/p>\n

Similar to the lecture he presided with the staff of Minint to explain his role in the electoral process, Bam\u00f3quina Nzau developed a similar work with traditional, religious and youth authorities, in order to raise awareness of “the need to exercise the right to vote , as it is a civic right\u201d, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, to explain to them the challenges of the National Police in terms of public security in this electoral period.<\/p>\n

Bam\u00f3quina Nzau told the members of civil society present at the lecture that during the electoral period “the challenges in terms of public security will increase depending on the level of demand of citizens”, for which, he warned, the National Police should play a leading role in the credibility of the State, of the political system, in the fields of Justice, Security and public peace.<\/p>\n

The Secretary of State for the Interior reiterated to that fringe of society that the defense of the homeland is everyone’s business, stressing that citizens have a duty to collaborate in the pursuit of national security goals, in the preservation of peace, deterring any attempt at subversion. public order and tranquility observed in the country.<\/p>\n

Bam\u00f3quina Nzau will travel to the municipalities in the interior (Cacongo, Buco-Zau and Belize) to carry out similar Civic Education actions, both for the population and for the Minint staff stationed in those locations.<\/p>\n
