Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Luanda \u00e2\u0080\u0093 The oil production in Angola was less than 54.9 million barrels in 2021, compared to 2020.<\/b><\/p>\n

In 2020 the numbers were fixed at more than 465.3 million barrels.<\/p>\n

The reduction in production volume in 2021 is confirmed in the last monthly report for the month of December, published by the National Oil and Gas Agency (ANPG), giving an account of production of 35.6 million barrels.<\/p>\n

Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, in 2020 more oil was produced in Angola, reaching 465.3 million barrels, with an average of 1.2 million barrels\/day.<\/p>\n

Throughout 2021, Angola failed to reach the forecasts of 1.2 million barrels\/day, remaining at 1.1 million daily.<\/p>\n

According to experts, the decline was due to a lack of investment in prospecting, research and exploration.<\/p>\n

Despite the numbers, there is still light “at the end of the tunnel”, with the resumption of large projects that can increase the volume of production per day.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with the publication “The Energy Year”, the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, said that measures are being implemented to increase efficiency and strengthen oil activity.<\/p>\n

Projections indicate that the production quota for the Republic of Angola will rise to over fifteen thousand (15,000) barrels\/day, if compared to the quota established for January of the current year.<\/p>\n
