Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Head of State, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, yesterday praised the friendship and solidarity with the people and Government of Senegal, particularly with his counterpart Macky Sall, who currently serves as president of the African Union (AU), having expressed interest in deepening existing ties between the two countries<\/b><\/p>\n

In a message delivered by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o expressed the Angolan Government’s willingness to deepen cooperation based on concrete actions of mutual interest.<\/p>\n

The President of Senegal, Macky Sall, in the meeting with the minister T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, praised the efforts that Angola has made in the person of the Head of State, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, for the pacification of the Great Lakes Region.<\/p>\n

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, started, on the 27th of July, a tour, as special envoy of the Head of State, which took him to the Republics of Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa and, now from Senegal.<\/p>\n

During these trips, he conveyed to the counterpart of the highest representative of the Angolan Nation the efforts made to stabilize the region, with a focus on the political and diplomatic situation in Rwanda and the DRC, as well as in the CAR, in addition to the activities of the African Union regarding the development and issues related to Peace and Security, with a view to silencing the weapons.<\/p>\n

In another message, the President of the Republic, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, congratulated, yesterday, on the occasion of the sixty-second anniversary of the National Independence of Niger, his counterpart Mohamed Bazoum, highlighting the performance in the search for stability and security in the Sahel region.<\/p>\n

In the message, President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o highlights the need to promote and expand bilateral cooperation between Angola and Niger. Located in the Midwest of the African continent, Niger, which gained its independence in 1960, is a country rich in uranium, the main export product, and is also strong in the production of beans and onions.<\/p>\n
