Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The candidate for President of the Republic of the Social Renewal Party (PRS), Benedito Daniel, promised that if he wins the next general elections, he will create sustainable projects to develop and leverage family farming in Lunda-Norte.<\/b><\/p>\n

He underlined that the population of Lunda-Norte is essentially agricultural and takes part in mining work, but that this focus is on family farming. “In this sense, we are committed to protecting and supporting through subsidized credits, because we believe that family farming will allow for development and sustainability and feed the entire population”, she defended.<\/p>\n

The candidate for President of the Republic justified that industrial agriculture does not favor the food sustainability of the population, as it has an economic aspect and serves more for export, taking into account the multinationals that participate in it.<\/p>\n

“The main policies to be implemented are subsidized credit that farmers will be able to access and that will happen in two phases: a short-term one in which farmers will be able to pay at the end of each harvest”, he said.<\/p>\n

With regard to medium-term credit, he pointed out that they will be amortized in three or five years. He said that farmers will receive machinery, products, fertilizers and whatever is necessary for the development of agricultural activities.<\/p>\n

“In this way we will develop the basic needs of the population so that they can have sustainability and have other projects in order to create jobs for other people”, he said.<\/p>\n
