Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The dean of the Faculty of Law of the Mandume Ya Ndemufayo University, Abra\u00e3o Mulangi, spoke yesterday in the city of Lubango, Hu\u00edla province, concerned with the rate of denials and disapprovals at the aforementioned institution.<\/b><\/p>\n

Abra\u00e3o Mulangi, who was speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the deans and general directors of the faculties of Law, Economics and the Polytechnic Institute of Hu\u00edla, elected under the Presidential Decree approving the General Electoral Regulation of Public Higher Education Institutions, said that students rarely reach the average 14, which makes them excluded from teaching.<\/p>\n

“The rate of negatives or failures is not merely due to the students’ incapacity, but also to the criteria in which the contents are taught”, said Abra\u00e3o Mulangi, clarifying that the grades list not only classifies the student, but also the teacher, especially in the more advanced years.<\/p>\n

According to Abra\u00e3o Mulangi, “we cannot make the law course so difficult, in which people have more difficulties until they advance in the final years. We have noticed this, so we want to correct it, with the participation of students in the evaluation system” .<\/p>\n

He added that there are complaints that some teachers prefer to approach topics that are not related to the subject, talking about their political inclinations, personal successes and financial successes, which must be corrected.<\/p>\n

Non-Teaching Workers<\/b><\/p>\n

The Dean of the Faculty of Law at Mandume Ya Ndemufayo University (UMN) assured that, for the new term, workers who have shown willingness and interest to work will be promoted.<\/p>\n

He defended, on the other hand, a good relationship between the union and the employer. “We would like our union not to use the institution as a weapon to throw at us or a springboard to take over the management bodies. We want more interaction with the union, and it should reduce its policing over the management”, he advised.<\/p>\n

He also guaranteed that work will be done to implement postgraduate courses. “We intend to introduce some subjects, such as Comparative Law, Customary Law and Physical Education”.<\/p>\n
