Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>More than thirty professionals from the Attorney General’s Office (PGR), from the Central and Southern regions of Angola, are being trained on strategies for better identification and treatment of electoral crimes that may occur during the General Elections.<\/b><\/p>\n

The guarantee was expressed on Tuesday by the Attorney General of the Republic, head of Benguela province, Sim\u00e3o Cafala, during a seminar on electoral matters, promoted by the National Electoral Commission (CNE) aimed at PGR staff.<\/p>\n

According to the head of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, the PGR is prepared to give punctual answers to the different acts considered illegal, given the normal course of the general elections, on 24 August, an event that is expected to be festive for all Angolans.<\/p>\n

All acts that contradict the Electoral Code of Conduct will be subject to action by the PGR, in strict compliance with legality, abstractly, in the face of possible anomalies that may occur during this electoral period.<\/p>\n

He said that the population must take into account that the PGR will act in certain hypothetical scenarios to enforce the law and for this reason the institution’s staff are reinforcing knowledge about all the important steps of the process.<\/p>\n

Sim\u00e3o Cafala made it known that the knowledge acquired during the training action will be replicated by each PGR professional, in the communities, within the scope of the reinforcement of the civic and electoral education process, to guarantee a better participation of the citizens in the exercise of the vote.<\/p>\n

According to the official, the PGR intends that the voting citizens participate in the elections in an organized, responsible, orderly manner, with civic and patriotic spirit, respecting the Constitution of the Republic,<\/p>\n

The president of the Provincial Electoral Commission of Benguela, Jos\u00e9 Ndala Carlos, underlined that the training action takes place within the scope of the materialization of the tasks contained in the annual plan of CNE activities, for 2022, a year of holding the general elections, which is expected by the from all fringes of society a responsible and participatory involvement.<\/p>\n

The training action lasts for two days and brings together PGR professionals from the provinces of Bi\u00e9, Huambo, Cuanza-Sul and Benguela, and takes place in the institution’s auditorium, guided by two CNE trainers.<\/p>\n

Questions about the assembly and polling stations, their constitution and composition, preliminary operations, delivery of material, identification and composition of electoral kits will also be addressed. The working methods of polling stations, voting, preliminary activities, beginning and end of voting, order, priority in voting, voting steps, votes for voters with special needs and voters who cannot read or write, the unused bulletins and unused bulletins are on the training agenda.<\/p>\n
