Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Reverend Lu\u00eds Nguimbi and the politician Higino Carneiro appealed, this Sunday, in Luanda, to voters to come to the polling stations, on the 24th of this month, to exercise their right to citizenship, with civility.<\/b><\/p>\n

When expressing his wish, at the end of an ecumenical service alluding to the elections, Higino Carneiro appealed to the citizens to calm down, to be responsible and to vote conscientiously, in order to guarantee stability in the country.<\/p>\n

“We want growth, harmony and that we work together, with whoever is elected for the development of Angola”, he said, advising citizens to return to their homes, after exercising their right to vote.<\/p>\n

“We have a government at the end of its term, which has done everything to improve the lives of its people”, he said, guaranteeing that the MPLA is prepared to fully comply with its program and electoral manifesto, if it wins the elections on the 24th. Of this month.<\/p>\n

Reverend Lu\u00eds Nguimbi made it known that churches have multiplied in the appeals to voters for civic spirit during the electoral process. He said he hoped that the vote would take place calmly and with freedom of conscience, as was the case with the unofficial voter registration.<\/p>\n

He appealed to politicians to deliver challenging speeches, valid arguments that convince the voting population, “which has grown in terms of critical analysis”.<\/p>\n

The elections, he said, will serve to consolidate the peace process in the country, which is why he invited everyone to go to the polls.<\/p>\n

The MPLA, UNITA, PRS, FNLA, APN, PHA and P-NJANGO parties (the last two debutants) and the CASA-CE coalition are competing for the election.<\/p>\n

To this end, 14,399,000 voters, 22,560 of whom live abroad, will elect the President of the Republic, the Vice-President and the 220 deputies to the National Assembly.<\/p>\n
