Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The MPLA’s first provincial secretary, in Cuando Cubango, Jos\u00e9 Martins, presented, this Monday, to the Angolan community residing in Rundu, capital of the Namibian region of Okavango, the electoral manifesto and the main lines of force of the party for the next term, in case of victory in the General Elections of 24 this month.<\/b><\/p>\n

In the mass political act that took place at the cultural house of Angola Dr. Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto, located in that border region with Cuando Cubango, explained to the dozens of Angolans who flocked to the place the steps taken in the entire electoral process underway in the country and asked the population to cast a vote in favor of the MPLA that is in the position eight on the ballot paper.<\/p>\n

The city of Rundu (Namibia) and the village of Calai (Cuando Cubango), separated only by the Kubango River, is the town in northern Namibia that brings together the largest number of Angolans in that neighboring country, which is why Jos\u00e9 Martins did not want to go unnoticed. and appealed to everyone with active electoral capacity to turn out en masse at polling stations, where they registered to vote.<\/p>\n

“I know that many of you here in Rundu, due to blood ties with your brothers who live in Calai, Dirico and Cuangar, the three municipalities of Cuando Cubango that border Namibia, during the electoral registration process chose to vote in Angolan territory, so don’t forget to cross the border posts in advance, in order to exercise your civic right\u201d, he warned.<\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Martins explained the reasons for the need to bet on continuity, because in the post-independence and electoral period of 1992, the MPLA was not able to exercise its power of governance, due to the armed conflict and after the achievement of peace, several phenomena emerged, among which, the economic recession, Covid-19, world economic crisis among others.<\/p>\n
