Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Court of Catalonia, in Spain, decided to hand over the corpse of the former President of the Republic, Jos\u00e9 Eduardo dos Santos, to his wife Ana Paula dos Santos, for burial.<\/b><\/p>\n

The decision was taken Tuesday (16), after the judge received reports from the Legal Medical Institute and the Toxicology Laboratory.<\/p>\n

According to a reliable source cited by ANGOP, in the resolution the judge recognizes Ana Paula dos Santos as the widow of the former Angolan Head of State.<\/p>\n

The deliberation empowers the former First Lady to have guardianship of the body of the former Head of State and to proceed with the transfer process.<\/p>\n

Ana Paula dos Santos was the interlocutor of the Angolan Government when her husband was admitted to the clinic in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bwhere he died.<\/p>\n

During the process, the former first lady of the Republic had the support of the Angolan Government, which intends to hold a state funeral in Luanda.<\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Eduardo dos Santos, who ruled Angola from 1979 to 2017, died on July 8 of this year, aged 79, in Barcelona, \u200b\u200bSpain, due to illness.<\/p>\n
