Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The MPLA’s first provincial secretary in Lunda-Norte, Ernesto Muangala, promised on Wednesday in the Luremo commune, Cuango municipality, that in case of winning the General Elections on 24 August, the party and its candidate for President of the Republic, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, plan the construction of a hydroelectric dam with a production capacity of 300 megawatts of energy to serve that district.<\/b><\/p>\n

By intervening in a mass political act within the framework of a tour of the electoral campaign, which takes place in the south of Lunda-Norte, namely in the municipalities of Caungula, Cuango and X\u00e1-Muteba, the politician guaranteed that the party’s program foresees the construction of the referred to hydroelectric infrastructure, from the falls of the Vuca in the Cuango River.<\/p>\n

The project called “Vuca 1, Vuca 2 and Vuca 3”, according to the MPLA’s first provincial secretary, essentially aims to boost the social and economic development of the municipalities in the southern region, within the scope of the program for interconnecting the electrification system of East country, with the Capanda Hydroelectric Dam in Malanje with Luachimo in Dundo, capital of Lunda-Norte. Ernesto Muangala said that the future. The Vuca Hydroelectric Dam, in the municipality of Cuango, will be designed with a capacity four times greater than that of Luachimo in Dundo.
