Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The leader of the Social Renewal Party (PRS) and candidate for President of the Republic, Benedito Daniel, promised the Namibe electorate that, if he wins the elections, he will end the practice of trawling in the Namibe sea, to guarantee the and preservation of marine resources.<\/b><\/p>\n

Benedito Daniel advanced, this Saturday, the guarantee, during the political act, at the party’s provincial headquarters, in Bairro Popular, city of Mo\u00e7\u00e2medes, where he presented the electoral manifesto. In particular, the leader of the renovators indicated the perspective for the province of Namibe, focused on the Agriculture and Fisheries sector.<\/p>\n

The PRS, he said, understands that the activity of trawling, in addition to causing damage to maritime biodiversity, prevents the exercise of artisanal fishing, which is the main source of income for families in the fishing areas of Namibe.<\/p>\n

“In the field of fisheries and diversification of the economy, we will pay more attention to artisanal fishing communities, granting subsidized credits as a way of responding to the concerns of fishermen”, he guaranteed.<\/p>\n

According to the leader of the Social Renewal Party, combating drought, desertification and transhumance in Namibe province are also among the priorities of the party’s governance programme, which foresees the possibility of creating alternative sources of water supply to the populations.<\/p>\n

“We want to advocate more family farming in populations affected by the drought. This will only be possible if the people of Namibe guarantee the vote for our party. We are not selling dreams, we just want to show that the programs outlined can be materialized, if the people deposit confidence in the PRS”, he said.<\/p>\n

Benedito Daniel said that the party augurs the realization of municipalities, having reiterated the implementation of federalism, which he considers to go beyond governmental aspects, as it allows the sharing of economic, political and legal powers.<\/p>\n

“Our government will be based on decentralization. No governor or municipal administrator will depend on the central government to carry out social projects within the scope of local development”, explained the politician.<\/p>\n

The PRS act in Namibe served to formalize the delivery of credentials to the 450 delegates on the list of polling stations, in one of the three days before the elections.<\/p>\n

The visit of the candidate for President of the Republic by the Social Renewal Party to Namibe province was marked by a courtesy visit to the provincial governor, the Bishop of the Catholic Church and the residence of the province’s Soba Grande, in Mo\u00e7\u00e2medes.<\/p>\n
