Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>For the first time in the history of the country’s electoral process, Angolans residing in Portugal, South Africa, Namibia, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Federative Republic of Brazil and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) voted massively on Wednesday (24). , to choose the party and leader who will lead Angola in the next five years.<\/b><\/p>\n

In Portugal, voters attended the consulates in Lisbon and Porto from the early hours of the morning to exercise their citizenship rights. The first to vote at the Lisbon consulate was Ambassador Carlos Fonseca, accompanied by his wife.<\/p>\n

After voting, the Angolan ambassador to Portugal appealed to all Angolans to go to the polls to honor their commitment to their homeland, in a civic and orderly manner.<\/p>\n

In the city of Porto, the Consul General of Angola, after exercising its right to vote, also appealed to Angolans to go to the polls in order to actively participate in the election of the country’s future leaders.<\/p>\n

The two polling stations and ten polling stations set up in the city of Lisbon served more than 6,000 voters, of which 51 percent are men and 49 percent are women, aged 18 and over.<\/p>\n

The same process took place in Bras\u00edlia, at the General Consulates of S\u00e3o Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, where the voting process started at the right time, in a climate of great joy and hope, for a better future.<\/p>\n

Flor\u00eancio de Almeida said, by the way, that the most important thing is to respect the difference and that in this electoral dispute “may the best one, the one to whom the Angolan people place greater trust” wins.<\/p>\n

The Angolan ambassador to South Africa, Filomena Delgado, exercised her right to vote early, in the framework of the General Elections that took place throughout yesterday.<\/p>\n

Filomena Delgado encouraged citizens to participate in the vote, keeping calm and serenity for the success of the process and strengthening of peace and consolidation of democracy.<\/p>\n

South Africa was the country that kicked off the registration of Angolans in the diaspora, in January this year. In that country, 143 citizens were registered in Pretoria, 413 in Johannesburg and 858 in Cape Town.<\/p>\n

Angolans residing in Belgium and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) expressed their satisfaction at having exercised, for the first time, the exercise of voting.<\/p>\n
