Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Network of Jurisdictional Bodies and Electoral Administration (ROJAE-CPLP) praised, Thursday (26), in Luanda, the organization of the General Elections and congratulated the Angolan people for the peaceful and orderly way in which they carried out the vote, stressing that they respected the universal standards and Angolan law.<\/b><\/p>\n

When presenting the preliminary assessment of the CPLP Electoral Observation Mission, the head of the ROJAE Observation Mission, Jos\u00e9 Carlos Barros, said that, although the process had started with some delay, in certain assemblies, as a result of difficulties on the part of the members, the situation was recovered and the process proceeded normally.<\/p>\n

In the development of the team’s mission, around 80 polling stations were observed, where 34,206 voters were registered. In this context, in terms of organization, Jos\u00e9 Carlos Barros acknowledged that the work carried out by the six teams was carried out in accordance with international requirements and in accordance with the legal precepts in force in the country.<\/p>\n

Regarding the registration process, the Network of Jurisdictional Bodies and Electoral Administration of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (ROJAE-CPLP) guaranteed that it had not detected any case of double voting or fraudulent voting, due to the voter registration.<\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Carlos Barros also highlighted that the introduction of measures that allow for the knowledge of the situation of each citizen, in view of the census and the delegates’ access to information on who votes in each section, would favor the transparency of the process and avoid the disputes that are often accused.<\/p>\n

Regarding the voting process, the observer reiterated that the legal procedures were respected at the opening of the vote and, in general, during the act. \u201cIt is worth noting the widespread presence of delegates from almost all candidacies throughout the process and the almost total absence of formal complaints\u201d, stressed the head of the ROJAE Observation Mission.<\/p>\n

The mission was composed of 16 observers, who worked in the country from the 16th to the 25th of this month. In this process, the Electoral Observation Mission (EOM) consists of six teams, to monitor the voting day, opening and closing of polling stations, as well as the counting at the polling stations installed in the provinces of Luanda, Bengo, Cuanza- Norte and Cuanza-Sul.<\/p>\n
