Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Three hundred and 46 new classrooms, resulting from the construction of 30 schools, will allow the insertion of more students in the next academic year in Cuanza-Norte.<\/b><\/p>\n

The provincial director of Education, Manuel Louren\u00e7o, said yesterday in Ndalatando that the new schools will allow 25,000 students to be placed in the education system, out of a total of 196,554 students, including those already enrolled.<\/p>\n

Among the new schools are also five high-school polytechnics, built in the municipalities of Samba-Caju, Cazengo and Cambambe. “The middle institutes of Cambambe and Cazengo will teach courses in Accounting and Management, Electricity and Mechanics, never before taught in public schools in Cuanza-Norte”, he said.<\/p>\n

For this academic year, starting next September, Cuanza-Norte, he explained, has 470 new teachers, selected in the last public tender in the sector, joining the other 4,917, making a total of 5,387 teachers.<\/p>\n

The governor of Cuanza-Norte, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, said that the Education sector deserves special attention from the local government, as it is a crucial branch in obtaining qualified labor in the future.<\/p>\n

The schools, built within the framework of the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM), also gave Cuanza-Norte the possibility of having a high school with 30 rooms, the largest in the province.<\/p>\n

With ten municipalities, Cuanza-Norte has an estimated population of 443,386 inhabitants.<\/p>\n
