Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Ministers and those responsible for the environment of the G20 group yesterday discussed measures to mitigate the impact of the climate crisis, including financial and technological initiatives, at a meeting on the Indonesian island of Bali.<\/b><\/p>\n

“There was a space session on finance, how sustainable finance can contribute to solving climate crises,” said Indonesian Environment Minister Siti Nurbaya Bakar.<\/p>\n

The minister added that the meeting addressed the protection of ecosystems to reduce the impact of the climate crisis and the efforts needed to reduce pollution and gas emissions.<\/p>\n

Bakar recalled the urgency for countries to collaborate so that temperatures do not reach 1.5 degrees above pre-industrial levels, as advised in the Treaty of Paris, so that extremely destructive disasters due to climate change do not occur.<\/p>\n

The Indonesian minister did not mention the final statement, suggesting that there was no consensus, which has already happened at the recent meetings of the G20 Foreign Affairs and Finance ministers in July.<\/p>\n

Today’s meeting was attended by 362 delegates, including 17 ministers and 11 deputy ministers, of which 330 presented themselves in person and another 32 virtual.<\/p>\n
