Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Politicians, religious leaders and members of civil society, in the province of Lunda-Norte, defended, this Sunday, in the city of Dundo, the reinforcement of actions aimed at the continued preservation of the legacy of the Founder of the Angolan Nation, Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto, taking into account account of the “great role” he played in valuing and recognizing the culture and dignity of the Angolan people.<\/b><\/p>\n

The provincial governor, Ernesto Muangala, referred, during the ecumenical service, held within the framework of the commemorations of Neto’s centenary, the need to expand and disseminate the teachings of the first President, for the contribution made to raising the name of Angola in the world quadrant.<\/p>\n

The service, hosted by the United Methodist Church, was marked by moments of reflection on the memory of Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto. Governor Ernesto Muangala said that he should be remembered with spirituality and respect, not only for the actions he unleashed in the political, intellectual and cultural arena, but also for the human values \u200b\u200bhe has always transmitted.<\/p>\n

“President Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto must be among the unavoidable figures of the country and the African continent”, declared Ernesto Muangala, adding that the Founder of the Nation is for the people a symbol of national unity. “Neto was not only the mentor of the proclamation of National Independence, but the one who fought for the well-being of the population. We have, therefore, to affirm, every day, that President Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto fought for the dignity of the Angolan people”, referred.<\/p>\n

According to Ernesto Muangala, the life and work of Ant\u00f3nio de Agostinho Neto should continue to be studied so that the next generations will be aware of the grandeur of the figure of Neto, during the struggle for the freedom of the Angolan people.<\/p>\n

He recalled that it was at the United Methodist Church where Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto “professed his divine belief”. He thanked, therefore, the role played by churches recognized by the State in transmitting and preserving the values \u200b\u200bof Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto’s legacy.<\/p>\n

The secretary of the Municipal Youth Council of Lucapa, Gra\u00e7a Joaquim, said that Neto is a figure that inspires Angolan youth and that of many African countries, judging by the concern he had for the future of the new generations.<\/p>\n

Gra\u00e7a Joaquim confirmed that in the municipality of Lucapa there are “clear signs” of young people entering the world of literature and other cultural arts, choosing President Agostinho Neto as a model in their works.<\/p>\n

Pastor Alberto Cabamba, from the United Methodist Church, highlighted the “unquestionable” religious and human dimension of President Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto, stressing that the Founder of the Angolan Nation was a person with a sense of humility and solidarity.<\/p>\n

Citing some biblical passages, Alberto Cabamba indicated that Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto was one of the African Heads of State who spared no effort to design the future of the homeland’s citizens, as in other parts of the continent.<\/p>\n
