Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The issues that concern the African Union (AU), the region and the continent were addressed during the audience that the Head of State granted, Thursday (14), in Luanda, to the president of the Commission of the continental organization, Moussa Faki.<\/b><\/p>\n

The President of the African Union Commission has been in the country since yesterday, to participate today with other Heads of State and Government, including personalities from various parts of the world, in the investiture ceremony for the second term of the President of the Republic, in Pra\u00e7a of the Republic, after having won, as head-of-list of the MPLA, the General Elections of the 24th of August.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press at the end of the thirty-minute meeting at the Presidential Palace of Cidade Alta, Moussa Faki said he took the opportunity to thank President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o for implementing the African Agenda for Integration and Reconciliation.<\/p>\n

Moussa Faki recalled, by the way, the “important role” that Angola plays at the African Union level, for the consolidation of peace on the African continent.<\/p>\n

Just yesterday, the Head of State received, at the Presidential Palace, his counterpart from Guinea-Bissau, Umaro Sissoco Embal\u00f3, who is also in the Angolan capital, Luanda, to participate in the ceremony that will confirm today the re-election of Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o to the post of President of the Republic, for a period of five more years.<\/p>\n

In fulfillment of the work agenda, President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o also held an audience with the special envoy of the Chinese Government, Liu Yuxi, through which he received congratulations from his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, for his reappointment to his second term at the head of the country’s destinies. .<\/p>\n

To journalists, at the end of the meeting, Liu Yuxi said that he had evaluated bilateral exchange relations with the Angolan Head of State, noting that Angola and the People’s Republic of China have achieved “great successes” in the cooperation they have maintained for several years, in the sectors of Politics and Economics.<\/p>\n

With the President of the Republic, Liu Yuxi also said that he addressed the permanent need to encourage Chinese businessmen to continue to invest in various parts of the Angolan territory, as a way of strengthening bilateral trade cooperation, for the benefit of of the two Governments and peoples.<\/p>\n

“I am in Angola to carry out two missions. To assist the investiture of President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o and strengthen bilateral cooperation relations”, said the Chinese special envoy, who considered it “essential” to reinforce political trust between the two countries.<\/p>\n
