Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Provincial Command of the National Police in Cuanza- Sul will reinforce road safety measures over the weekend, within the scope of the Sumbe International Music Festival \u201cFestiSumbe\u201d, taking place from the 15th to the 17th of this month.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, the head of the Department of Traffic and Road Safety of Cuanza-Sul, Chief Superintendent Mois\u00e9s Paulo, said that the campaign will involve 167 personnel, who will work along national roads, as well as in the main arteries of the city. of Sumbe and surroundings.<\/p>\n

Without advancing figures, the official stressed that the corporation is concerned with the rates of road accidents recorded in recent times in the region, which is why they will reinforce awareness campaigns.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the National Police officer appealed to motorists to strictly comply with the Highway Code, in order to prevent road accidents and guarantee the safety of the population.<\/p>\n

Organized by the Provincial Government of Cuanza-Sul, in partnership with the company promoting shows LS Republicano, the 2022 edition of FestiSumbe will feature more than 30 national musicians.<\/p>\n

To watch the shows, on the Marginal do Sumbe. more than five hundred thousand people are expected from various parts of the country and beyond.<\/p>\n

The Sumbe International Music Festival was created in 2002 to commemorate the anniversary of the province of Cuanza-Sul, to be celebrated on the 15th of September.<\/p>\n

This year, in particular, FestiSumbe is also part of the celebrations of the centenary of the birth of the first President of the Republic and founder of the Nation, Ant\u00f3nio Agostinho Neto.<\/p>\n
