Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>More than 200,000 young people and teenagers aged 15 and over, from 68 municipalities in the country, will benefit from a project to reinforce the Literacy Program, soon, announced department of the National Directorate for Youth and Adult Education (EJA).<\/b><\/p>\n

Ros\u00e1ria Bonif\u00e1cio explained that the project, to be carried out in three years, will cover young people and adolescents from the 68 selected municipalities, based on the high illiteracy rate registered in them, mainly among girls.<\/p>\n

The head of department that, within the plan, the refresher training of teachers and facilitators of schools and literacy centers in the municipalities and the standardization of the collection of statistical data are included.<\/p>\n

In this context, in Saurimo, Lunda-Sul province, the National Directorate for Youth and Adult Education yesterday closed a training session, in which a group of more than 40 EJA supervisors and coordinators from the eastern region of the country participated.<\/p>\n

Participants from Malanje, Moxico, Lunda-Norte and Lunda-Sul reinforced their knowledge to achieve better results in the implementation of the illiteracy reduction project, with emphasis on young people and women.<\/p>\n

Promoted by the National Directorate of Youth and Adult Education (EJA), since Monday, the training was part of the project to reinforce the Literacy for All Program (PAT).<\/p>\n

Among other objectives, the training aimed to provide the participants with tools that allow literacy teachers to carry out the activity in any location in the region, provided that the conditions are created for this purpose.<\/p>\n

The more than 40 graduates also made contact with topics related to the Basic Law of the Education and Teaching System, Amendment Law, Youth and Adult Education Plan, Administrative and Methodological Guidelines, Assessment System for Adult Primary Education and Treatment of Statistical Data.<\/p>\n

The director of the Provincial Education Office, Canhinguiquine Perfeito Candondolo, considered that the training project will revitalize the PAC, which has been paralyzed since 2020, due to the economic and financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n

For this reason, he appealed to recent graduates for greater commitment and responsibility, in order to make a greater contribution to the eradication of illiteracy in the region, which has high rates.<\/p>\n
