Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS) pointed out, this Monday, in Luanda, as the sector’s goals the expansion of telecommunications services, the improvement of social communication and the training of staff in all aspects.<\/b><\/p>\n

M\u00e1rio Augusto da Silva Oliveira, speaking at the handover ceremony, considered the three factors important to leverage the sector, in order to guarantee more and better quality of services provided to the population in the country.<\/p>\n

“It is a sector that covers the entire human life, because no one can live without Telecommunications and Social Communication, as they are sources of knowledge sharing”, he explained.<\/p>\n

The minister also highlighted the implementation of actions aimed at creating cybersecurity, to respond to the current challenges of new information technologies, working on data and network protection.<\/p>\n

In his turn, the outgoing minister, Manuel Homem, and the new provincial governor of Luanda, thanked the support of all the members of the surrounding sectors of MINTTICS, stating that he left with the feeling of accomplishment during his consulate.<\/p>\n

The new Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, M\u00e1rio Augusto da Silva Oliveira, has a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Universidade Agostinho Neto and Universidade do Porto \u2013 Portugal. Until his appointment, he served as Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Information Technologies.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication is an auxiliary body of the Holder of the Executive Power and has, among other missions, to propose the formulation, conduct, execution and control of policy in the fields of Telecommunications, Information Technologies, Postal Services, Meteorology and Geophysics, Media and Advertising.<\/p>\n
