Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Head of State, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o, this Tuesday appointed new members to the Council of the Republic, following the holding of the General Elections this year, Jornal de Angola learned.<\/b><\/p>\n

Here is the Presidential Decree in full<\/p>\n

COUNCIL OF THE REPUBLIC<\/p>\n

With the holding of general elections this year and the investiture of the President of the Republic and the Vice President of the Republic, as well as the inauguration of the Deputies to the National Assembly, there is an urgent need to adapt the organization and functioning of the Council of the Republic;<\/p>\n

Bearing in mind that the Constitution of the Republic of Angola establishes the Council of the Republic as a collegiate consultative body of the Head of State;<\/p>\n

Council of the Republic has new members<\/p>\n

The President of the Republic decrees that, by virtue of their functions, the following entities are part of the Council of the Republic:<\/p>\n

Esperan\u00e7a Maria Eduardo Francisco da Costa \u2013 Vice President of the Republic;<\/p>\n

Carolina Cerqueira \u2013 President of the National Assembly;<\/p>\n

H\u00e9lder Fernando Pitta Gr\u00f3z \u2013 Attorney General of the Republic;<\/p>\n

Lu\u00edsa Pedro Francisco Dami\u00e3o \u2013 Vice-President of the MPLA;<\/p>\n

Adalberto Costa J\u00fanior \u2013 President of the UNITA party;<\/p>\n

Nimi a Simbi \u2013 President of the FNLA party;<\/p>\n

Benedito Daniel \u2013 President of the PRS party;<\/p>\n

Florbela Catarina Malaquias \u2013 President of the PHA Party.<\/p>\n

To also integrate the Council of the Republic, President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o appointed the following citizens:<\/p>\n
