{"id":17265,"date":"2022-10-05T10:02:03","date_gmt":"2022-10-05T10:02:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/cocoa-and-honey-fair-opens-today"},"modified":"2022-10-05T11:35:17","modified_gmt":"2022-10-05T11:35:17","slug":"cocoa-and-honey-fair-opens-today","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/cocoa-and-honey-fair-opens-today","title":{"rendered":"Cocoa and Honey Fair opens today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>A total of 21 producers from the provinces of Bengo, Bi\u00e9, Cabinda, Cuanza-Norte, Huambo, Moxico and Luanda, exhibit today and tomorrow at Pal\u00e1cio de Ferro, in the country&#8217;s capital, during the National Cocoa and Honey Fair.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>On an initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the event aims to promote the promotion and commercialization of the two agricultural crops, within the scope of the Executive Program for Support to Production, Export Diversification and Import Substitution (PRODESI).<\/p>\n<p>The fair is held in partnership with the Ministries of Agriculture and Forestry; Industry and Commerce, the Angolan Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), the Angola Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as the National Coffee Institutes (INCA) and Forestry Development (IDF).<\/p>\n<p>According to the event&#8217;s spokesman, Jo\u00e3o Domba, assigned to the International Cooperation Directorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, of the 21 exhibitors, ten are honey producers and the other 11 are dedicated to the promotion of cocoa.<\/p>\n<p>Jo\u00e3o Domba also said that holding the fair will help to relaunch abroad the work that honey and cocoa entrepreneurs have been doing internally.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This fair is being promoted within the framework of the economic diplomacy policy. With this initiative by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, local producers will have more will and dynamism to increase the production of honey and cocoa. The idea is to take these entrepreneurs to fairs from countries with which Angola has diplomatic relations\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition will count with the presence of ambassadors accredited in Angola, above all, from countries that are producers of honey and cocoa, with the aim of verifying what the country produces and the possibility of entrepreneurs investing in these cultures.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Africa represents 70 percent of cocoa production in the world. S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe and Cote d&#8217;Ivoire are the largest producers.
