Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Secretary of State for Forests, Andr\u00e9 Moda, highlighted, this Wednesday, the mega-project to plant almost one billion trees, in the Center and South of the country, by 2030, to build a green curtain and \u201cstop the silent advance of the desert. \u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Secretary of State was speaking today in Luanda at the 26th session of the Forestry Committee (COFO26) of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) which started today in Rome, Italy, until Friday.<\/p>\n

Andr\u00e9 Moda went further that the tree planting project, which also aims to minimize the effects of the drought “which rigorously threatens the region”, aims to plant one billion trees by 2030.<\/p>\n

He pointed out, that a trial is already taking place in Luanda, the country’s capital, in the Ramiros area, and in the municipality of Bibala, Namibe province, so that within a month the first phase of the campaign will begin in Hu\u00edla province, with the goal of planting 700 trees.<\/p>\n
