Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Foreign Affairs, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, participates today in Abuja, Nigeria, in the meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Gulf of Guinea Commission (CGG), which, among other matters, will discuss the current situation of the organization and analyze the state of contributions from member countries.<\/b><\/p>\n

The meeting, which precedes the 5th ordinary session of the Summit of Heads of State and Government, to be held in a hybrid way, will also present the report on the activities of the Executive Secretariat, during the period 2020 to 2022, and the Action Plan. of the organization for the year 2022\/2023.<\/p>\n

The Gulf of Guinea Commission was created on 3 July 2001, through the treaty signed in Libreville, Gabon, by Angola, Congo, Gabon, Nigeria and S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe.<\/p>\n

The organization became a permanent institutional tool for cooperation between these states bordering the Gulf of Guinea, with a view to defending their common interests and promoting peace and socio-economic development based on dialogue and consultation, based on ties of friendship, solidarity and fraternity.<\/p>\n

The Commission, to which Cameroon and the Democratic Republic of Congo joined in 2008, remains open to the accession of other States on the coast of the Gulf of Guinea, with a view to transforming the sub-region into a Zone of Peace and Security.<\/p>\n

Creating conditions of mutual trust, peace and security conducive to the harmonious development of States, promoting close consultation in the exploitation of the Gulf’s resources, with a view to ensuring the economic development and well-being of the respective peoples are some of the objectives of the CGG, which it also ensures the harmonization of the policies of its members.<\/p>\n

According to the press release to which Jornal de Angola had access, the head of Angolan diplomacy was received, at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, by the Angolan ambassador to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Eust\u00e1cio Janu\u00e1rio Quibato.<\/p>\n
