Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Witnesses heard yesterday by the Luanda District Court confessed that they received salaries in the Road Transport Brigade assigned to the Security House of the President of the Republic, installed in Cuando Cubango province, without rendering any service to the institution.<\/b><\/p>\n

Eliote Paulino clarified the court on the reasons that justified the attribution of salaries paid by the Brigada de Transporte Rodovi\u00e1rio da Casa de Seguran\u00e7a. “I received 411 thousand kwanzas monthly”, confessed the witness.<\/p>\n

Asked by the defendants’ defense lawyer An\u00edbal Pires Nunes Antunes and Ildefonso Gama Ferraz if the salary he received was in line with the work he did, he replied: “I am a good activist and political mobilizer in Menongue”.<\/p>\n

In addition to Eliote Paulino, the Luanda District Court also heard witness Francisco Tchinongue, who was recruited in 2010 to work in the 9th Road Transport Battalion assigned to the Security House of the President of the Republic, in Cuando Cubango, as plumber.<\/p>\n

Francisco Tchinongue said that, initially, he received 128 thousand. Months later, he continued, the salary rose to 459,000 kwanzas, despite having been asked to guard the residence of citizen J\u00falio Vidigal, who, by the way, had the duties of chief, without specifying his degree in the military hierarchy.<\/p>\n

In reaction to the statements made by the witnesses, the defense lawyer for the defendants An\u00edbal Pires Nunes Antunes and Ildefonso Gama Ferraz, Ant\u00f3nio Jo\u00e3o, asked the court to issue certificates of the depositions, considered important for the determination of the facts.<\/p>\n

Depending on the certificates requested from the judge of the case, by the lawyer, it is possible that other processes may be triggered, a posteriori, as mentioned by Ant\u00f3nio Jo\u00e3o. For today, the hearing of new witnesses enrolled in the process is scheduled, where Major Pedro Lussaty and the other defendants are accused of committing 13 crimes, including embezzlement, criminal association on an ongoing basis, undue receipt of advantages, abuse of power and economic participation in business.<\/p>\n
