Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton said on Thursday that he is not planning on retiring from Formula 1 anytime soon. The British driver, who signed a two-year contract with Mercedes last year, will remain with the German team until the end of 2023 at least.<\/b><\/p>\n

Aside from the preview of the Japanese GP, which will take place this Sunday, Hamilton said that he intends to continue on the tracks beyond that date.<\/p>\n

“I plan on staying longer. I just don’t know how long,” Hamilton said at the Suzuka circuit.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Channel 3, Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff said Hamilton, who turned 38 in January, could continue for another five years.<\/p>\n

Hamilton said he had not spoken to Wolff about this comment, but that it was a possibility. “I feel good here,” said the Briton, who made his Formula 1 debut in 2007 with McLaren before moving to Mercedes at the end of 2012.<\/p>\n
