Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of State for the Social Area, Dalva Ringote, considered that the speech on the State of the Nation is the structuring axis that aims to guarantee the continuity of the Executive’s actions for the social well-being of the populations.<\/b><\/p>\n

The official, who was speaking at the end of the opening of the first parliamentary year of the fifth legislature, said that President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o was able to present the Executive’s achievements in the 2017-2022 five-year period, as well as address the current state of the country, highlighting the difficulties and challenges faced, due to Covid-19 and the international financial crisis.<\/p>\n

Dalva Ringote highlighted that, with the guarantee of the continuity of the Government’s projects and priorities in sectors such as Education, Health, Programs to Combat Poverty and to Promote the Economy, the fundamental bases were launched for the construction of a strategic instrument for the country .<\/p>\n

“We believe that here we have laid the fundamental foundations for the construction of a strategic instrument for our country. We are specifically talking about the National Development Plan. Now the Executive has to work to guarantee the implementation of a set of projects for the continue on the path of economic growth\u201d, he defended.<\/p>\n

Programs such as Kwenda and cash transfers, he said, are fundamental actions from the financial point of view that will ensure that more families, at the national level, can benefit from these instruments that come to support communities.<\/p>\n

Dalva Ringote considered the programs to Combat Poverty and Reconversion of the Informal Economy well mentioned in the speech, which help to remove families and communities from rural areas that are still in informality in order to transition to formality and benefit from all the incentives that the Executive has in favor of the economy using access to credit.<\/p>\n

The Minister of State and head of the Civil House of the President of the Republic, Ada\u0303o de Almeida, considered that the message from the Head of State defines the programmatic lines for the materialization of the country’s major development goals.<\/p>\n

Ada\u0303o de Almeida stated that transparency and discipline in the management of public affairs must be basic principles of governance, so that the objectives proposed by the President of the Republic are achieved.<\/p>\n

Investments in Education<\/b><\/p>\n

The Minister of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation, Maria do Rosa\u0301rio Sambo, highlighted the investments that will be made in the Education sector, referring that, in general, they will focus not only on infrastructure aspects, but also on also for the improvement of human resources.<\/p>\n

Maria do Rosa\u0301rio Sambo considered that this is a process that will ensure that the qualification of teachers is carried out in a sustainable way and that higher education institutions have stronger teaching staff in quantitative terms.<\/p>\n

He also spoke of improving scientific research activities, with funding and the development of more technical and scientific projects.<\/p>\n

The minister highlighted the progress made in the works of universities such as those in the cities of Dundo, Saurimo and Benguela, as well as the work being done as residences and complexes for students.<\/p>\n

CICA highlights the fight against gender violence<\/b><\/p>\n

The emphasis that the President of the Republic gave to issues such as education and gender-based violence are, in the view of the secretary-general of the Council of Christian Churches in Angola (CICA), a point to be taken into account, as they are issues of concern general social status of populations.<\/p>\n

The Reverend Deolinda Dorcas Tecas considered it important to strongly combat the growing and negative levels of gender violence. She suggested that the National Assembly pass a tougher law, for the severe punishment of perpetrators of such violence.<\/p>\n

In his speech on the State of the Nation, President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o highlighted several social aspects, such as the construction of 172 health units.<\/p>\n

The country currently has more than 33 thousand hospital beds. 772 new schools were built and 313 rehabilitated, making a total of 1,085. Since 2018, 20,190 new teachers have been admitted.<\/p>\n

Under the Kwenda program, 850,000 households across the country are registered. this program has proved to be very effective in supporting families in extreme poverty and high vulnerability.<\/p>\n
