Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Council of the Bar Association in Bie\u0301 has assisted, in the last two years, more than a thousand disadvantaged citizens in conflict with the law and with their rights violated.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was released saturday, in the city of Cuito, by the president of the council in the Center\/South region of the country, Cristino Vale\u0301rio, in the act of granting professional certificates to lawyers and trainee lawyers.<\/p>\n

According to the official, this help is part of the free legal assistance program carried out by the institution. Cristino Vale\u0301rio considered the action of the Council, which has been operating in this province for exactly two years, positive. He stressed that such actions will be ongoing.<\/p>\n

In this sense, he urged citizens to go to the Provincial Council of the Bar Association, in case they see their rights violated, thus avoiding justice in their own hands.<\/p>\n

In turn, the deputy governor for the Political, Social and Economic sector of the province of Bie\u0301, Alcida de Jesus Camateli, said that it is essential that lawyers help the underprivileged, when it comes to the violation of human dignity, without verifying, a priori, their financial conditions.<\/p>\n

He reiterated the support of the Government of Bie\u0301 to the Council of the local Bar Association, so that the institution becomes increasingly strong and expanded at the level of the nine municipalities in the province.<\/p>\n

During the wind, 11 lawyers received their definitive ballots and 14 others were awarded provisional ones. The ceremony also paid tribute to former professionals and the Angola Press Agency (ANGOP), for the contribution that it has been providing in favor of plural, impartial and free information for citizens.<\/p>\n

The event was attended by the president of the Comarca do Cui\u0301to, Pilares Ganga, the attorney general of the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic of Bie\u0301, Jaime Ina\u0301cio Prata, the president of the Bar Association of Huambo, Domingos Sassi, among other individuals.<\/p>\n

The province now has 47 lawyers and an equal number of interns.<\/p>\n
