Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of Zambia, Hakainde Hichilema, will visit Angola in the first half of November this year, announced the ambassador of that neighboring country, Lawrence Chalungumana.<\/b><\/p>\n

On the occasion of the 58th anniversary of the Independence of Zambia, marked on the 24th of this month, the diplomat said that the Head of State is very interested in visiting the Republic of Angola in the first half of November.<\/p>\n

The ambassador explained that the two countries are working for Presidents Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o and Hakainde Hichilema to exchange views on the economic, political and social growth of both southern African nations.<\/p>\n

He recalled that so far Angola and Zambia have signed 20 agreements, highlighting those for the acquisition of oil derivatives, with Sonangol as a mediator, the construction and operation of the Lobito Corridor railway line, a pipeline to transport oil derivatives, as well as the improvement of trade in more than 150 agricultural products.<\/p>\n

He considered trade between the two countries to be reduced by presenting a turnover of around 15 million dollars\/year.<\/p>\n

According to the diplomat, the two countries are not making the best use of the potential of the long territorial extension existing on the borders of Moxico and Cuando Cubango. He informed that the Zambian community in Angola is around 5,000 citizens, against the 30,000 Angolans residing in that country.<\/p>\n
