Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The book \u201cThe spelling of Angolan national languages: a study applied to the Umbundu language\u201d, by Father Jose\u0301 Kambuta, which portrays the cultural identity of Angola, is now available to the literary market.<\/b><\/p>\n

The work, with 135 pages, subdivided into four chapters, published under the seal of the Portuguese publisher Colibri, introduces readers to the path and importance of Angolan national languages, to allow their appreciation in society.<\/p>\n

At the launch ceremony held on Friday, in the city of Huambo, Father Jose\u0301 Kambuta said that the book, published in 2021, is the result of four years of academic research, motivated, above all, by historical issues of linguistics and cultures from Angola.<\/p>\n

According to the author, national languages \u200b\u200bare being placed on the margins of reality, with the lack of interest of the new generation, preferring, in many cases, foreign languages.<\/p>\n

He appealed to society to reflect, either through the book or through other realities, on the national linguistic culture, for the maintenance of national identity.<\/p>\n

He predicts that the work, with 250 copies, will provoke linguistic debates among academics, as it presents spellings from European libraries in countries such as Spain, France, England and Portugal.<\/p>\n

Born in the municipality of Londuimbali, province of Huambo, on September 11, 1979, the priest and writer Jose\u0301 Kambuta holds a doctorate in Dogmatic Theology and holds a master’s degree in Biblical Theology, Language Sciences and Classical Studies.<\/p>\n
