According to a statement from the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Angosat-2 has been operating since yesterday, November 4, at 23 degrees East, its ideal position. The conclusion of this second phase of the Angosat-2 tests will make it possible to take telecommunications services to the whole country at competitive prices.<\/p>\n

With a lifespan of 15 years, Angosat-2 will also cover several locations around the world, namely the entirety of the African continent, with emphasis on the southern region, and a significant part of southern Europe, thus constituting, as an alternative source of revenue collection for the Angolan State coffers.<\/p>\n

In the statement, the ministerial body clarifies that the new phase follows the construction and operation stages, provided for in the protocol between the Russian and Angolan parties. The construction of Angosat-2 follows the complementary protocol between Angola and the Russian Federation, to the contract for the manufacture of Angosat-1, launched in December 2017, but which later presented problems in maintaining communication with the ground control centers.<\/p>\n

The entire Angosat-2 payload, which is enabling the satellite to operate, was built and installed at the AIRBUS facility in France.<\/p>\n
